As an agency you do not charge or collect state or city sales or use tax.

Agencies placing candidates on RecruitiFi do so in accordance with our Terms (www.recruitifi.com/terms). As such, RecruitiFi is the Master Vendor, and all agencies are subcontractors of RecruitiFi and thus exempt from collecting and remitting taxes.

RecruitiFi is the entity responsible for billing, collecting, and submitting sales and use tax to the appropriate city/state entity.  You do not need to collect or remit these taxes.

Recruiting services are taxed in eight states in the USA based on the primary work location of the candidate.  If the hired candidate works in any of the eight following states, RecruitiFi charges, collects and remits the appropriate State taxes:

  • Connecticut

  • Hawaii

  • Iowa

  • New Mexico

  • Ohio

  • Pennsylvania

  • South Dakota

  • West Virginia

For your convenience we are happy to provide you with a State exemption form for your records.  We would just need your organization name and address.

Lastly, please note that RecruitiFi does not acknowledge invoices from agencies as our platform is the sole source of invoices to Employers.
