Community vs Preferred: the two ways agencies work with clients

How preferred and community client relationships work for your agency, and how community roles lead to preferred status.

Written by RecruitiFi

Every requisition an agency works on RecruitiFi comes through one of two relationship types: preferred or community. Understanding both before you apply helps you see how invitations and fees fit together.

Preferred relationships:

  • What it is: A client has named your agency a preferred supplier, usually because you already worked together before the platform.

  • How work arrives: The client invites you to their roles directly, and working an invited role costs nothing.

  • Fee terms: Your negotiated per-client terms apply, including tiered rates where you have them.

Community relationships:

  • What it is: Access to requisitions from clients you have no prior relationship with, matched to your stated preferences.

  • How work arrives: Roles appear in Discover based on your matching preferences, and you choose which to accept.

  • Fee terms: Standardized country-by-country community fees, guarantee periods, and ownership terms, all visible before you submit.

Why the distinction matters: Community work is how new agencies build client relationships on the platform. Perform well on a client's community requisition, and that client can add you as a preferred supplier, moving future work to the invitation model.
